CD/DVD drive an optional extra, an external at that. Only one USB port. No Firewire or Gigabit ethernet - hell, no ethernet at all unless you use the solitary USB port with an RJ45 adaptor. In which case without a USB hub, you can't use the CD/DVD drive at the same time. Battery not user replaceable.

      Verdict: Executive toy.

Mind you, I haven't seen one in the flesh yet...

Solid state drive and no moving parts. That hasn't been done unless I've missed something somewhere.

Apple. Products so cool we don't need customers.

first impressions were that it looks cool, i like the idea of ultra ultra thin and even had me wondering if I can get away with a Mac on client networks..

after reading it only has 1 USB and no ethernet cable socket im instantly put off, i have 3 USB right now, plus ethernet and that is just about right

looks nice, but not practical is my verdict, overhyped

I'm sure somebody will find a use for it.

And I think you're missing the "Air" idea - you're supposed to buy one of these to go with it.

I am more inclined to buy an eeepc - I wouldn't care that much if the thing got bashed about in my bag etc.
