    Milan.
But illegal here. I tend to pull back and then accelerate up to 250 and then slam the brakes on when I'm about a foot behind them. that makes them move out the way PDQ
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Make sure you are swerving from side to side too. It makes the sudden view of the giant BMW/Merc in their rear view mirror look even more menacing.

Or even better, try to force your way between them and an imaginary extra lane next to the central reservation and see if you can force them into the adjacent lane.

Aparently that's what they do in Italy too.

Slightly off topic - does anyone know the pukka trade body for driving instructors or have recommendations for driving schools in the UK - eldest sprog is about to start lessons!!
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

This was very tempting in my old banger but too difficult to judge the precise outcome.

A long long time ago when I was playing sunday morning football and everybody was still half p**sed from the Sat night out. One of the lads ran into the lad infront on purpose for a laugh, ended up in car carnage. They were all 80s rust buckets so not too disastrous.

                Tailgating

I find myself agreeing with MB on this one.
Driving 'on the edge' could mean that you are a better - not worse - driver.
One maybe considering himself to be a 'safe' driver, however overdoing it, could be as dangerous as being an unsafe one.
Leaving a big gap from the car in front is also a trademark of someone with advanced age/blindness/other impediment. It also creates huge tailbacks if everyone did that for 'safety reasons'.
As MB said, there maybe reasons when the car behind needs to overtake you (late for an appointment, trying to get back on time, to pick the kids up., etc etc). Let them go, instead of getting stressed.
To cap it all, worst thing to do is to be on the outside lane 'policing' the 70 mph limit.

                  Rubbish

Its driving too close and having to brake that causes a ripple effect and eventually jams. This has been proven: http://www.physorg.com/news117283969.html

                    Tony,

'"you wanna be in front, you're welcome to it"

Something you have no choice about given the diesel Passat!'

                    you cheeky c./.a./.n./.t.

Darmstadt, maybe illegal in Germany, but the Germans all use that trick in CZ.

Was in your neck of the woods a few weeks ago visiting the FaM Weinachmarkt while transiting.

                    Milan.

                      You beat me to it.

The reason I don't leave a safe gap is somebody usually fills it within 2 to 3 seconds.
