Does anyone bother to look at someone else in a suit ? Do you intensively stare at their tailoring like some envious garment obsessed loon ? Why ?

I'm more likely to feel comfortable speaking to someone in a Rammstein T-shirt, multiple piercings and blue hair than some car-room salesman in a suit.

The only people that wear suits are those trying to sell you something or the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

      comfortable

When I wear a suit it's I don't want people to feel comfortable. I want them to feel a mixture of jealousy, fear and submission in the face of my unblemished professionalism.

If you must have a suit made in the far east this place will do you a fully bespoke suit for less than £300

When you live in your little sheltered world of fantasy do you ever stop and try and understand why people do things differently to you?

I bought a couple of t-shirts for a fiver each the other day.

Wearing one of them now - it's my first week here at NewClientCorp, so I need to look my best

Quite a few, yes, but one can't act as a walking billboard all the time

It's becoming something of a tradition for me to wear my Google one the first day at a new place

Now you're talking. You've got to be good rather look good (allegedly in a suit) though. A Google T-shirt has got to be way better than some hideous suit <shudder>.
