Ah, good old Persia, shame it ever became Iran. Somewhat typical of a lot of nations that embrace the medieval doctrines of Islam. Few, if any, have produced anything of note or benefit to mankind, for several hundred years.

I agree , Reza shah is the one who changed the country name from Persia to Iran (as part of modernization) he was doing very well for the country, until the country was invaded by britain during world war II and he was removed from the power ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-S...vasion_of_Iran )
note iran was not involved in the war this was illegal act.
