For the record, I have only been to the following places that are north of Watford:
    Shrewsbury (to visit family)
Llangollen (to climb some godforsaken cliff that I promptly fell off)
York (for the most depressing Open Uni residential week ever)

Go up the M6, turn right before you reach the Lake District.
If you see someone by the side of the road wearing a kilt and a tam o'shanter and playing the bagpipes you've gone too far and should turn around and head south again.
(you've also inhaled too much of the fumes from a faulty exhaust and should get to a hospital pretty quickly).
    It's Deja-vu all over again!

Sounds like she needs a visit to Scotland

Manchester is quite easy to find, just follow the cobbled motorway. As you get closer you will find you cant see quite so well as the air becomes thick with smoke, and you can hear the clatter of the mills. Everybody will be wearing flat caps and walking whipets. The children all have rickets and everybody wears clogs.
Should youneed directions a local will give them and will dutifully tug their forlock, though you may find it difficult to understand.
I would suggest you read a book called "the lanky twang" should you not have an interpreter to hand.

        It's grim up North!
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

I still might be making it, or I might not, depending on who drops out. Or not. Or doesn't go at all.

I could make it, but can't be analed.

Was in Manchester briefly last night picking up some bints that went to see the Spice Girls. By all accounts it was pretty poor for what it cost. They're going back to see Girls Aloud in a few months. Now that could tempt me back to Manc. Cheryl is still tasty, even with all those tramp stamps. I guess she's been 'posted' quite a few times.

Cobbles are making a comeback all over the UK. They call them potholes now. I suppose it's a stalagmite/stalactite thing.
