Feck. Now this car needs maintenance , worries about feckin scum scratching the paint , going to service , cleaning , letting other jealous friends drive it and possibly brake something , driving is hell after 7 hours in front of the monitor.. I WANT THE TRAIN BACK !

I am getting “per-owned” 3 – 4 years old Audi A3 for about 12 K. ( Obviously I cannot be bothered with other than BMW/Audi “cars” ).

If you care to discuss please do :

1. Anyone care to share experience with “pre-owned” Audi and BMW ? ( Pre-owned is the brand’s car approval program where the car u buy has been checked by BMW/Audi for defects. You also get 1 year guarantee on the mechanical/electrical parts.

2. Is pre-owned more effective than leasing ? The pre-owned A3 2.0 TDI ( 3.5 years old ) is 12-13 K where the new one is 20 K ( without leasing interest ) . I don’t believe leasing can be more cost-effective in the 3 years term even though the “newone” will sell for more compared to pre-owned one which would have aged to 6 -7 years ?!?!

3. There are online shops offering 24 or 36 months contracts to lease the car instead of buying it. Anyone experience with this scheme ?

12k is too much for a 3-4 year old hatchback, especially when the golf it is based on is 15k for a new tdi

I agree with you and I am sorry it sounded like the A3 will be the panacea. It is not. I can't believe how honest I am on this board - but you know what Emotional Intelligence is right ? I know that having this a3 baby will tune my mindset in the right frequency. that is it really.

Since we are all grown up here both me and you know that gagging is not the only way to get the birds. Many are impressed by confidence or weirdness or just because u threat them like they do in the movies. However the birds I am after - cute eastern polish etc chicks, are "ready" much faster when they see the car.

Buy a merc if you want to attract women, I had alsorts of sports cars, corvettes and a porsche and they just look at you like your a d!ck, I borrowed my ex-bosses merc for a couple of weeks, blimey what a difference It got me a lot of attention. but as previous comments have said if you need a car to pull your in trouble, save your money and buy a hooker, cost of an A3 will get you laid quite a lot I would imagine....not that I'd know ahem,

Well the A3 looks very flashy - low profile tyres , angry face , etc , etc - the boys at the gas station can't take their eyes off. Too flashy now I realize. It gives me an image of what I am not...But the feeling , oh the feeling of driving. And stop comparing the A3 to a Golf . Golf had their days , now they look like Grandma s shopping car.

I've got an A3 and I like it. Bought second hand a couple of years ago and hasn't given me any major problems - I think I've had to spend about £300 on fixes. Hope this helps the OP.
