The next job will be to explain to them how the virus probably got there, and the sort of things my dad should not be clicking on in future.

That is going to be fun.

Might be good of you to mention that just about every adult site has been compromised since October so should renew that credit card once the banks are open again.

I used to hate Christmas, then I started ignoring it and it was a lot better. Unfortunately I've allowed myself to get sucked back in this year - and I'm really pissed off with myself.

Just arrived at my parents' house a couple of hours ago.

Within 10 minutes they happen to mention that their computer has "not been working right" for the last few days.

So I find that the registry has been corrupted and the computer is riddled with malware.



I wanted to be down the pub by now and instead I am here trying to sort out computer problems.

If only used for Internet browsing Try installing Linux, probably worst that can happen with Linux is that the home directory gets encrypted.
