And it does all that in 250k+ lines? Couldn't you make your code a bit more efficient? -
If I fail to make decent money spent in the last 3 years until the end of 2008. Crunch year next one is going to be, but I am optimistic that I will have the product that can actually make money.Originally posted by sasguru View PostFair enough. I like enterprise. Most of code was rewritten a few times, some parts were rewritten 5 times until it achieved degree of scalability and speed that I like.Originally posted by Cliphead View PostAnd it does all that in 250k+ lines? Couldn't you make your code a bit more efficient?
What you have to understand is that current index that is being built uses data from 30 bln crawled and analysed pages, each on average is 25kb, so that's 750 TB of primary data.Comment

In spite of the piss-taking I wish you well. If you have a good product, finally you'll learn what the City is for.Originally posted by AtW View PostIf I fail to make decent money spent in the last 3 years until the end of 2008. I will have the goods in January - I am going public with them actually, I am sure it will be successful in terms of usage because it will have information that you can't get from G/Y/M as it is not in their interest to give such information to webmasters many of whom will gladly pay to access it. There is some pricing tests done with real life clients and results are encouraging - there are people who are prepared to pay well for this kind of intelligence information.Originally posted by sasguru View PostBeacuse at some point I could take it to market for you - but I'm not convinced you have the goods.Comment

Thanks friend, your well wishes are appreciated. We shall see very soon if SKA is a complete failure in terms of money making or not. Either way I would have done it again because of what I have learnt - it might have cost a lot of my money, but this is acceptable price for knowledge.Originally posted by sasguru View PostIn spite of the piss-taking I wish you well. I've just spent 4 months on a project, will be announced at NAMM in Los Angeles in January, 1000+ advanced orders based on the prototype already, factory being built to produce it, employees interviewed and currently being trained, A - list musicians queuing up to endorse it.
Minimum risk, minimum outlay, maximum profit and the only other major player in that market will likely buy us out anyway while mk 2 is being developed. You gotta move a wee bit quicker if you want to compete with er, Google, Yahoo

Business intelligence - it will allow to understand why some sites are ranked higher than others on G/Y/M, key to this is backlinking and anchor text used, and my index contains this information. Throw into this a few good reports (and I used to be very good with creating those), and there should be some commercial successOriginally posted by sasguru View PostArtificial or Business?
