There is nothing worse that being spoilt by grandparents. I never forgave mine for cutting off my nose. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Crikey, I'm glad you ain't my dad (whoever he may be).
I'd have disowned you by now and shopped you to Social Services for cruelty.
Come on, splash the cash and share the festive cheer...your kids might get killed in a car accident in February (I sincerely hope not, of course)....
Life's too short to be a misery gutsOf all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
