I loved squirrels since childhood - in the city where I was born part of it was in the woods, it was an R&D place where mostly scientists lived, my parents worked at the time with early computers, so I had punchcards at home

Anyway, because our part of the city was int he woods, there were lots of squirrels everywhere, and they were friendly - they took food from hands, and this experience is unforgettable, we moved to another city where there were no squirrels, but memories were vivid so I was very pleased I could tame local squirrels here and make up for all this time I was not feeding them

I also like grey squirrels because they are successful foreigners - just like me

Aren't grey squirrels categorised as imported vermin?

You mean foreigners who are subsidized by others people?
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

                  So do I.

The flesh is firm and has more taste than rabbit. I like them roasted with sage and onion stuffing. well done, and crispy on the outside.
Best time to shoot them is late autumn when they have fattened up for the winter.

                  Mouth watering now! MMmmm
