    Ah, I see.

But that was around the time that several of the "new influx" joined, so it might not help your cause any!

So, what is one supposed to do? Those that want the board as it was, really should set their own up and not allow anyone else in. Things change and move on. The attraction of a forum is that people can join, post, discuss, etc. and this may not be in a style that you are used to, or even like. However, that is the nature of the internet, and fora in particular. I never used to post anything in General or Light Relief, purely because I didn't feel that it was exactly a welcoming environment. When I was banned, there were posts that suggested that things like chat, banter and discourse should be put in TPD - so when I came back, that's exactly what I did.

And now, that's not good enough, either. TPD isn't what it used to be. You're right, I for one will not disagree with that. There are more people here for a start. However, I certainly find it a friendlier and nicer place to post than anywhere else on CUK - so what if you can't read every post (and some manage it!)? I'd rather have some degree of friendship and discussion than silence here.
Oh Laaaawd Why don’t you newbies get it… the board has always been like this (only worse) people come here because they are bored, they vent on all kind of issues, when a newbie comes along – everyone gets excited cuz they have a newbie to bully and insult (sometime it get boring when oldies go on and on insulting each other – get old you know) so when a newbie comes a long he’s a new target …. Its sort of an initiation that every newbie has to go through… you get the pi$$ taking out of you and get proved in many many ways, if you took it like a man/woman, took the pi$$ out of others and out of yourself , you’d survive, you could even become popular here. If you start moaning that people here are bullies, run to mods every five seconds then you’ll never hear the end of it, you’ll stay the favourite for bullying…

In summary BB always been like this, oldies always thought the good ol posters were better than the new posters (in fact am sure many of the newbies are oldies re-born like a phoenix )

FaQQer its not about winning, its about passing time, and boring everyone with boring talk

btw: I think you are a good member, I didn't think you are a newbie though, I thought you are one of them phoenixes(don't know what's plural for phoenix )

Also where's Beaker?? we need his wise words today

Whatever might be behind the F name, first impression is pretty poor.

You are probably correct, more effort should be made by the management here policing names with the wrong kind of innuendos.

It is unnecessary to post in a personal way digging into the subject of small minds and mindedness, you know not who nor whom you are dealing with.

Thank you for the theology lesson.

As you have only been here since the forum has gone down hill you are unfortunately not in a position to remember the glory days of real humour and banter. I only wish those days will come back as you and others could learn a thing or two and might even enjoy it as part of the process.

        Milan.
May I possibly refer you to this...

            ok F,

for me I don't read faqqer in terms of F.A.Q.,

my first impression of it was some crude way of achieving the signum, with the innuendo on F&U^C*K%E$R

            where in this crude innuendo,

faqq is pronounced like F$A%C&K with

            as in faqqer or F#A$C%K&E*R

            Diver,

'We don't hate you, we pity you, and would love for you to join us in enjoying life, and in the pleasure of cuk',

            surreal man !!

Sas, the passat will be liquidated in a week's time, you want first nod ?

            Remember children, play nicely,

            until sometime tomorrow,

            Milan.

              Have to agree with SandyDown

hmm, never thought I'd say that. Anyway, the banter on here is VERY robust, always has been, I suspect that it is a reflection of how thick skinned you have to be if you are going to be a contractor so we cope with it the same as we have to cope with the tulip that we get in the workpace.

Bogeyman had a trantrum about the newbies earlier this year. SA was his particular target, but she didn't let him get the better of her and he fluounced off.

Who knows if he is back with another ID?

Milan - remembers when you were the new kid on the block and everyone used to hate you

Well you used to work in EE somewhere and everyday you posted something horrid about the UK (the start of the Oh Dear threads)

In which case, you are even more dense than I gave you credit for. I suggest you read the definition that Stu posted to earlier in Urban Dictionary, and have a think about this being an IT contractors portal.

I appreciate that the typical questions you may need to deal with cover "should I use side A or side B?" and "paper or magnetic tape?" but there are other questions out there.
