. having been around for a long time amongst the brotherhood
    Agreed

. having offered a balance to the community, a lot of straight talking wisdom comes from Winston

He offered a lot of straight talking, but I wouldn't go as far as calling him wise

. defender of others, there have been times when some here have been on the edge of being bullied and Winston have behaved like a gentleman and defended
    True, true..

. he gives ShaunBhoy a good run for his money
Where's MiketheBike?? he used to do that too, but does this means that Churchill is actually a bully whenever he feels like it? ...ShaunBhoy how's your five kids?

. and most of all, has a history of good behaviour and no previous convictions
pull the other leg... even Churchill would laugh at this if he read it.

Bunch of stick in the mud outmoded outdated outthought Drama Queens if you ask me.

Get with the program, abide by the rules and decisions of the administrators and grow up for gods sake.

This post is dedicated to those unhappy few who think that the world should revolve around them

We don't hate you, we pity you, and would love for you to join us in enjoying life, and in the pleasure of cuk

good night all, be nice to each other,

        Milan.
It's 9 pm. As is his wont Milan has just retired with his pipe and slippers and cup of hot cocoa to the fire, satisfied after a long day of pottering around in his grey Passat. Soon his little house on the Czech prairie will resound to the sound of the Milan clan:

        G'night granpa
        G'night Engelbert
        G'night Matilda ....

        Ahhhh Bless!
        Hard Brexit now!

From what I remember of some of the pictures, I would imagine that the legality of some of those pictures was questionable. There were lots of lovely young ladies, but there was no way to verify the ages of them. I don't blame the admins for not wanting to be in a position of being accused of hosting that stuff.

I never saw anything obviously illegal, but I think there was just too much doubt over some of them.

Whatever happens, those of us who were not here at the start can't win.

You get told off for banter in General (specifically), and told to take it to TPD. You post in TPD and then people moan that "TPD isn't as good as it used to be - there are too many people in there" (Yes, Xen and wendigo, I mean you!!).

So, what is one supposed to do? Those that want the board as it was, really should set their own up and not allow anyone else in. Things change and move on. The attraction of a forum is that people can join, post, discuss, etc. and this may not be in a style that you are used to, or even like. However, that is the nature of the internet, and fora in particular. I never used to post anything in General or Light Relief, purely because I didn't feel that it was exactly a welcoming environment. When I was banned, there were posts that suggested that things like chat, banter and discourse should be put in TPD - so when I came back, that's exactly what I did.

And now, that's not good enough, either. TPD isn't what it used to be. You're right, I for one will not disagree with that. There are more people here for a start. However, I certainly find it a friendlier and nicer place to post than anywhere else on CUK - so what if you can't read every post (and some manage it!)? I'd rather have some degree of friendship and discussion than silence here.

Since CUK describes itself as "The IT Contractor Portal", I would expect most people in IT to understand what FAQ means. I appreciated that tape monkeys may not be aware of this, but it means "Frequently Asked Questions".

What other first impression is there to take from it?

I've asked you this three times now, milan, and each time you cannot explain what is so offensive about using an common acronym. If you feel that there is something offensive about it, then that indicates some kind of tawdry mind.

Snap - I hardly ever post in the other bits 'cos invariably whatever you say gets shot down or riddaculed (yes I can't spell it) so whats the point...
