It might do the trick but I don't think it is a price we really want to be paying.

EDIT - rock n roll is for permies. Contractors do "research" or "business development" or working on plan b.

Yes, I;ve just read this piece of genius posting.

I can only hope that glory days such as this return quickly to boost the quality

        such a shame,

in it's hayday this forum had a banter and humour that regularly made me nearly spill my coffee, these days people respond to posts with why don't you leave

what a sorry state for a forum to fall into

        Milan.
I couldn't help but hear the 'Our Tune' theme when I read your soliloquy. Very touching.

I think Milan is suffering from Nostalgia where the bad bits are forgotten, and the good bits are unjustifiably wonderful.

I think Milan, if you were an administrator, you'd also be left with no option but to ban Churchill, and you would understand the reasons for the ban.

It's not permanent, and it's not personal.

And before you ask "Who the hell are you!", I've been a member since 1999, although as you can see, I don't post much

            This is unbelievable!!

This isn't some Gentleman's club you know (and if you want it to be why don't you set one up, where you can sit in your online Chesterfields, smoking your online cigars, drinking you're online whisky reminiscing).

It's a forum for Contractors where anyone can join and get useful and not so useful info. All users have to abide by the rules- simple!

Life is diverse, so is this board. There's plenty of space for everyone to do what they like doing, whether it be drivel based socialising in TPD, real contracting issues in B and C, A and L or plain old abuse in General (specifically in General).

As a certain Swiss based company says 'Change happenz'
Si posse, recte, si non, quocumque modo rem

What you mean is that some of the so called indigenous members are unable to abide by the rules. Rules that had to be laid down by the admin because these so called indigenous were creating a situation on this board where the Board/Forum was in danger of Litigation or closure, were in fact bringing this Board/Forum into disrepute.
Boundaries were laid down for a reason, the Boundaries have not been moved recently the only change in the rules occurred years before any of the so called Newbies joined. The existence of boundaries is not a new thing. the boundaries have been in existence since this forum was created. The parameters are clearly laid out.
The only thing that has changed recently is the determination of the Admin to curb the excesses of the few who think that they are above the rules.

Out of curiosity, Why and when was the posting of pictures banned ?

It wasnt that great back then, although a lot more threads about Israel.

                I am talking 2000 - 2003

Well, same old story, Milan didn't like this chap but instead of telling him once and then avoiding his post, as any clever person would do, he made it a personal war abusing him at every occasion with constant insults, just as pretty much Churchill used to do to the people for some reasons he didn't like. For me this is not an acceptable behaviour on a forum. I might accept some handbagging war like sasguru and bagpuss but when the level of remark becomes quite serious I think that something should be done about it.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.
