Most professional physicists have pretty mixed opinions at the very least, although not generally completely dismissive (apart from the usual drive by shooting from string theorist Lubos "bad boy" Motl)

Cosmologist Sean Carroll isn't very optimistic, with the same basic objection as Motl about Lisi's casual mixing of Fermions and Bosons.

The most detailed critique I've seen, which tries to summarize what Lisi purports to have done, is by Sabine Hossenfelder on her Backreaction blog.

How would this theory explain house prices in the UK?

OwlHoot, thanks a lot for those links, that is some interesting stuff. Much better than reading about Gordon Brown or immigrants.

Actually, mathematician (in some previous life before becoming an IT contractor). I always thought that the real reason behind the existence of E8 was to torture maths students. Maybe this guy's theory will prove me wrong.

Seems E8 can also be used to torture even the latest supercomputers

                  Bigger than the Human Genome

The magnitude of the E8 calculation invites comparison with the Human Genome Project. The human genome, which contains all the genetic information of a cell, is less than a gigabyte in size.

Jeepers I could store all the genetic information of cUK memebers on me hardrive and then degfrag it.

What kind of hideous contracting creature would this produce? Makes the mind boggle, perhaps one where atw makes sense
