I answered seriously as I think its a midly interesting question. I work in financial services, credit cards, mortgages, insurance. Doesnt pay as well as IB, but still pays better than average. Plus the hours and stress appear to a lot less.

I did 1 3 month stint in new media (software development house) ... and NEVER again.. paid less, silly hours (well they tried to make me anyway).. and they excused all this by saying they were funky and we could wear shorts and flip flops to work... I dont want to wear flip flops.. I want to go home on time and get paid well.

And they can shove the new media lable up ther pooper shooters as well... they are web development houses.

I've held out for long term gigs before and neither of them materialised in the end. But if the alternative is Belgium...

Where's the 'death and destruction' option?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I've spent about 5 years working in the pharma sector and enjoyed that. There is only AZ near me and they tend to pay cr@@py rates.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

          I preferred version 1!

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Apparently you have no morals either. I am pretty sure if slavery was legal you'd make a good buck on it.
