Now now, there hasn't been a flame war/retaliatory moderation massacre for many a long day.

I only brought it back to show how nothing changes - that statement crops up every 18 months on average.

It's more frequently than every 18 months, or maybe they stick in my mind more than other threads.

In a minute, milan will be in to say how great the old board was, using the key phrase "keyboard / coffee interface", and how the newbies all ruin the fun that used to be had on the old board.

that's one person's opinion! <ducks/> i remember the banning and why i did it. would prob do it again. you were a newbie at the time, getting involved in an inappropriate thread and by doing so encouraging the main protagonist. at the time, watching the thread, i'd hoped you'd know better. still, no harm done

it is interesting though that zeity dredged this up from the *depths* [sic] - do you bookmark these things??. i'd forgotten all about it. i might pm ferret to see what he would have done. it's good to have consensus on these issues and it's not easy being consistent.

it was never your [gaelic - irish] phrase [i did recognise it as i speak gaelic - scots a bit - it helps up north with the fishing and hills] that got you banned, it was simply being involved in the thread, [ i did try to explain that at the time.] ...and yes, i was a tad ticked off at the time coz there was a whole load of stuff going on. but we're all older and wiser now
