I don't think anyone was waving their fingrer because you broke the speed limit.

It's because you are moaning about it.

You knew you were speeding, so why all the fuss when you get caught?

Yes I have been caught speeding, but I didn't go online moaning at strangers when I was. I just paid the fine and accepted my points.

So, are you suggesting that everything should be legal unless there is a victim, then?

And no - not everyone breaks the speed limit. There are plenty of people out there who don't - I'm usually stuck behind them...

No, because the deterrent effect is important. And I do accept that if I speed I may get prosecuted. The laws however are not perfect and nor is breaking this law necessarily harmful.

In the meantime I am going to spend the rest of the day devising a better law

Public stoning of offenders? Should should have a pretty good deterrent effect.

You want to go down AtW's Salty Siberian Mine ?

                  Is that a euphemism ?
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That's true. How remiss of me to forget that agents go up rather than down.

So your a top man then ?
