We phoned them this morning and they said they'd put one aside for us which was nice of them (got the wife to do that - better for the sympathy vote).

The going price on eBay seems to be about £280 for the basic £180rrp package.
Hmmmm - I'm not working on Friday, and it's not that far...

I was watching that site but consoles come up and then go out of stock within minutes. The last ones that came up were being flogged for eBay prices anyway.

I used to pack my rucksack and fire off abroad asap for a few months or once or twice worked on house building/renovation jobs. However I'm now saddled with kids and I've pretty much rolled from one contract to another post kids so it'll be a bit different next time I'm on the bench. Just got an old house to do up, so I envisage it will be something like get up a bit earlier than I want to with kids, play with the kids until the Mrs get up, play at DIY a bit, have a long lunch with Mrs and kids, play at DIY a bit, tinker with garden for a bit, tea with Mrs and kids, kids to bed, watch a bit of telly and have a few lagers, bed, then repeat. Chuck in a few weekends in the Lakes and few weeks in the sun somewhere and after about 4 months I might be ready for some more boredom.

How does that sound ? What would you do ?

Only ones in stock are at Amazon marketplace and on eBay - both not the cheapest, to say the least. Same with play.com second hand.

Might ring Game tomorrow, or see if I can get one from France.

I've just ordered one from amazon.de, quick and easy. Price was £175 delivered.
Should be with me on the 19th Nov.

                Amazon.fr is cheaper for delivery.

Is the Wii the new cabbage patch doll? It's not the best console out there yet everyone seems to be in a frenzy trying to get one, what’s the big attraction?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I'm still waiting for the "World Seal Clubbing Championship" simulation.

Have you even BOTHERED to watch a video of Super Mario Galaxy, before making such a sweeping statement?
