From what I've heard the Peak district has peaks but the Lake district has lakes AND peaks. Does that mean don't bother with the Peak district?

Lake District = loads and loads and loads of tourists.
Peak District = lots of nice motorbikes and less busy for walking."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JR -

If you don't like lakes but like peaks, then don't bother with the Lake District.
If you like lakes but don't like peaks, then don't bother with the Peak District.
If you like both, then don't bother with the Peak District.
If you like neither, then don't bother with either.

My sister-in-law works there in a campsite, which is in a lovely location.Comment

3 peaks in the peak district is good for cycling, but only once a year.
Windermere in the lake district is nice, and if you pick the right hill to climb one evening you should be able to see the Blackpool illuminations.Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

One of the permies at my client site was killed this weekend in a motorbike accident in the Peak District. Everyone was very glum, and most of his colleagues, or ex-colleagues now I suppose, got bladdered in the local pub this afternoon. I don't know the details - maybe he bombed it round a corner and straight into a sheep or something.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostLake District = loads and loads and loads of tourists.

Out of morbid curiousity, what do bikers reading this reckon would be the most likely scenario? What would you be most on the lookout for? (apart from the peaks, to forestall the sarky among us).Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment
