    - it's monday
    - had no sleep over the weekend, not because of bedtime acrobatics but because g'friend steals the duvet and hogs the whole bed
    - got no decent breakfast on crappy virgin trains this morning
    - repetitive work to do today
    - g'friend just called up to say she "thinks she's ruined" her IKEA chest of drawers she bought herself at the weekend after "getting a bit excited with the hammering".. Chef is now going back to IKEA next weekend to lug yet another chest of drawers back and up several flights of stairs and will now have to build it for her myself. FFS. Told her to goto MFI or something similar, she insisted to "do this flatpack build it yourself thingy"
    - did i mention it's only Monday?

Ummm - we had a chest of drawers like that... instead of making sure she was putting the right screw in the right hole, my sis just hammered it in..... hence the half made chest that has been sitting in the lounge for 18 months....

Ah, the joys of a time machine.

My Ikea bedside units look strangely out of place amongst the rest of the antique furniture - they were fine in my flat, but since we refurnished with furniture more in keeping with the age of the property, there are a few anomalies still lurking.

I'm hoping to replace my Ikea dining room table with the one that used to belong to my great grandparents - I just need a cunning plan of sneaking it out of the house without my parents noticing...

          IKEA?

Just take it from the till straight to the dump. Then pick up a well built old one from the local charity shop/ebay.

              Update:

she "thinks [she's] fixed it now" by "hitting the nail out the other way and shaking it a bit to get it out" as well as "moving the room around a bit so that the side with the marks on it aren't showing" ...

"5 of the 6 drawers open fine, the other one i dont need anyway".. what kind of backwards logic/thinking is that???

p.s yes i know this is totally contractor unrelated and if AtW wants to know what i have had to eat today then PM me

p.p.s i think im slowly going insane

                Sounds perfectly logical:

                Drawer #1: knickers
                Drawer #2: bras
Drawer #3: handcuffs, gags, knifes etc
                Drawer #4: "better hubby" devices
Drawer #5: empty, but just in case is blood proofed

                Drawer #6: clearly unnecessary.

So, Alexei, did you ever get your lunch and, if so, what was it?

My breath is sufficiently bated - please don't spoil the suspense by giving it away now.
