The cheapest one on there is £280!!! If you're paying more than £180 for the base unit then you're being ripped off.

Do remember the plugs are funny though. Their prices are fairly good, of course. If you want to wait a couple of days, a lad here took my advice and ordered one for his kids - I'll let you know if it shows up.

Careful. Frenchies use SECAM for video output and not PAL.

I have a few French gadgets at home and just use a universal adapter plug that you can pick up at an airport. My sister has a house in France, so maybe as a post-Christmas treat I'll have to get one when I'm over there for New Year...

Careful. Frenchies use SECAM for video output and not PAL.

Most modern tellies will cope with this, but it's worth checking. I think anything with HD Ready will happen to work with SECAM too.

Otherwise it will come up black and white!

Sometimes, only one of the SCART sockets supports SECAM too.
