I work in Eindhoven, no direct flights from Manchester so usually fly to Schiphol then get a train direct.
This morning I flew with VLM to Rotterdam, taxi to Rotterdam central (€20) then a direct train to Eindhoven.
Incidently I was also booked to fly with KLM today but I forgot i had booked that ticket so also booked myself on to VLM
I was really pleased with VLM, good service, fast checkin and boarding, decent food (compared to KLM) and Rotterdam airport, being smaller, is a lot quicker with the immigration and bags.
Only bad thing about VLM is that the evening flight is too late for me, so for the time being the afternoon flight with KLM to schiphol will have to remain my first choice.Coffee's for closersComment

Sounds good! That must cost a packet to do all that and presumably stay in a hotel whilst you're out there.Originally posted by Spacecadet View Post

Contract is for consultancy services plus expenses incurred.. I had a bit of wedge saved up in the company account so paying for flights and hotels before the first invoice was paid wasn't a problem.Originally posted by ~Craig~ View PostSounds good! Yeah that seems to be the best way of doing it. I guess it would be quite difficult to have a fixed daily rate unless you could acurately predict the cost of flights and hotels; otherwise it would just be eating into your profit.
I wouldn't mind doing a bit of work abroad but I'm not sure how it would affect my SC clearance.Comment

Shouldn't impact your clearance at all.Originally posted by ~Craig~ View PostI wouldn't mind doing a bit of work abroad but I'm not sure how it would affect my SC clearance.
However, if you work for more than 11 months in a non-SC cleared role, then your clearance lapses anyway and you have to start at square one.Comment
