Agreed. The fizz, coupled with my other phobia (the main one is lumbar punctures) of pub/club toilets, would never allow me to neck that much Stella. Bitter, whatever the strength, just seems to soak in until I break the seal.

Only aging blokes seem to drink it, or young farmers/young conservatives.

EDIT: bitter is superb. I like trying new ones as there is a scary range of tastes and textures!

If you are on a big all day sess then bitter is a lot easier to quaff than even weak lager, stay well clear of Stella ! I picked up this vital knowledge at a rugby club annual drinking degree event from lads older and wiser than myself.

            Now that's some going!

I managed 9 pints of diesel and 8 double vodkas in an evening once, before I ran out of money. I was gutted, as I knew I'd never get that drunk again, and wanted to see how far I could go.

It was Cheltenham Gold Cup week, so we "ran the Gold Cup". Drink as much as you can all night - a pint or a double counts as a fence, and you get named after the horse that fell wherever you stopped drinking.

            (And embarrassed)

Guinness is a good session drink too.
There must be a scary amount of bad chemicals in stella for it to have the effect it does, seeing it has the same alcohol content as Guinness.
I can still actually drink about 10 pinst of Guiness and be OK. The same amount of stella and I'd be a gibbering wreck.
              Hard Brexit now!

Our uni lost the drinking trialthon at Frank Morton day one year because the Irish bloke refused to down a pint of Caffreys, saying it was sacrilege.

I had a choice of names - Ebony Jane fell at the 17th, but since I was third from those that finished, I became "Young Hustler".

I would not recommend that you Google "Young Hustler" from work, though.
