    Right...

Because I'm so nice / so bored, I've spent lots of time looking at EOS, Silverjet and Maxjet.

Maxjet are the cheapest by far. Example fares for London to New York for the three on the same dates came in at £1,314.16 for Maxjet, £2198.20 for Silverjet and EOS £2,096 for two adults.

Maxjet seems to be closer to a premium economy service, though - the seats don't become flat beds, and there's nothing on the site that says what size the seats are. They have 102 seats on the plane though, and have 60 inch seat pitch in a 2-2-2 configuration. The planes are older than those used by the other airlines - average age is 18 years.

Silverjet seem to have all their planes in service at the moment. No real information about the rest of it though, but they seem to get good reviews. Their seats fold flat to make a bed as well, though, and there are no more than 100 people on the flight.

EOS have the most space - there are only 48 seats on the plane. Each person has their own little cubicle, but it means that you're not sitting next to anyone - whether this is a good or bad thing depends on who you're travelling with. My sister is a really bad flier, and needs to hold on to someone during take-off and landing as she is really scared - can't do that on here. The fleet has an average age of 12 years.

It depends on what you are after, and what you are used to. If you are after a bit more space and luxury than you get in economy, or premium economy, then Maxjet are probably the way forward. Double the price of an economy flight, but they do provide the extra space than you'd get in economy. If you are after an experience that is closer to true business or first, then EOS is probably a better bet. The menu choices between Maxjet and EOS seem fairly similar and quite nice - Silverjet are a bit vague on everything that they offer, so no idea really.

If it were me, I'd probably go Maxjet as I'm quite tight about things like that and can't quite justify the extra expense of EOS for a fairly short flight, as I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. £700 is a lot of shopping that you can do, after all.

    HTH.

No, that's because you were banned for a week so you can't stop your verbal diareah, it's painful innit?

Alexei, you don't want to parachute from 38000 feet.

This thread would be more entertaining if it was Sandy asking for flights to NYC. Especially when it came down to security practices/baggage checks etc.

There are a number of threads that I considered posting in, but have so far restrained myself. If anyone else awakens them, then I shall wade in.

Today, I'm working on a different public sector project. I can already tell it's doomed, just by the press coverage.

I don't know, it might be quite exciting, although this guy doesn't seem to have enjoyed it that much

I tend to stick with American Airlines when flying over there because I have a few points with them which gives you a fighting chance of an upgrade to business. I've flown business with them and been upgraded to first a few times and I wouldn't say that first is much better than business. I've flown cattle class with BA and Delta and hated both. American tend to have both the biggest seats and the most ugly stewardesses.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                  I preferred version 1!

I did mention this on Friday night, but I fear that I may not have explained myself clearly.....

Silverjet are doing an offer if you book before Christmas they deliver your tickets in an exclusive silver box from Links of London, and you also get a silver ticket as a memento of your journey.

If you've not booked your trip already, it might be a nice extra souvenir of your holiday.

Flights need to be booked before December 20th, and it's a silver plated ticket that you get.

but still, if it's a special occasion, it might be nice.
