You can get tickets now for £50 each way, the tax is about £150 though!
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I just booked a return flight with BA, business class, at £599 each way. Was sorely tempted to upgrade at least one leg to first class...just to see how the other half lives

I don't think the rest of your body would appreciate that!

First class is great. We don't have to mingle with you riff-raff.

You don't get much else extra, apart from not having to look at the person next to you as in club.

              599 is CHEAP!

At half-term it was 1000 quid each in traveller plus (big economy) and 50k points to upgrade to club.

Hmmm - I'd check a bit further if you have the real business class Mailman, or whether you've been stiffed with the bigger seats like I was.

Theres standards, stardard plus, business and first.

Unless these other airlines are shoving BA's prices down that is, since I last went (2 years ago).

I paid about that for Standard Plus (which at the time, I'd thought was business, cause the website doesn't make it very clear).

I flew first class to LA a few years back, with Mrs.F - fantastic, but not worth the money.

EOS and Silverlink fly from the private jet terminals, so you can turn up whenever you want to before take off, have much more luggage allowance, and don't have to mingle. One thing to check, though is exactly what route they fly - some airlines aren't allowed to go direct transatlantic. There's one that flies from Bermuda, but it has to go up the east coast of America, across the Atlantic to Scotland, and then down from there because they don't have permission to go straight across into London.

Also, check which airports the business ones fly to / from - Stanstead I think. How easy is it to get to without driving? Also, which NY airport do they fly to?

Finally, one of them was doing a buy two, get one free deal recently - think it was EOS. Might be worth looking to see if they do that still.

                    Any particular reason for NYC?

BMI fly to Washington from Manchester and it's pretty reasonable.
