    Flights For Client...

    How do you deal with flights.

    Do you:

    a) Find out what they are willing to pay (e.g. current clients will pay sleazyjet / ryan air or better depending on avail of flights) then invoice them for this and find your own flights

    b) take what the clients gets you

    c) its all inc my daily rate (probably only people who commute to for a set number of flights)



    For me its a. Currently client will offer me a flight e.g. EasyJet then I'll take that cost book a BA or even Czech Airlines who are very good imo and fly with them. As a tall mofo easy jet flight seats just do not have enough leg room period.

    Although I am getting good at convincing the client that they should front the whole cost for the better flights. Overall its saves them more money as the cheapo flights are usually midday and for a while they didn't understand that a £40 flight at midday with worse value than a £100 flight at 7am as they lose a whole day of my time at a heck of a lot more than £60.

      How about going there with your truck, delivering goods and monday to friday do your contract and then back and forth? Talking about synergies...

        Expenses

        I have to submit receipts and claim against them so it's whatever I can reasonably justify. Had to let the chauffeur go.

          I build all my expenses into my daily rate.

          But I would claim if I could!

            I'd like to do that but the number of times I am due to fly out is not fixed at the start of the contract.

              ditto for me. any extra flights or changes forced by the client are charged though. i would not want to go back to expensing again - far to much hassle and delay in payment. plus i get the benefit from booking early and getting the cheap flights.

                I just book myself and invoice client for flights....never been a problem...

                especially since i have always delievered on business trips

                  Always include "fully flexible, economy class fares to be paid for by client" in the contract.

                  I would not do the gig if Sleazyjet was the only option.
