Not yet, although I do have critical illness cover and plenty of life insurance.
However, as my 40th birthday is rapidly approaching, it may be time to re-do the risk assesment sooner rather than later."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

I've been quoted £200 pm for critical illness and £40 for life assurance (Norwich Union - £365,000 over 25yrs).
Is that expensive?
All these insurances really add up.Last edited by RightLaugh; 16 October 2007, 14:40.Comment

It's worth finding yourself a local IFA and talking to them. They have access to far more products than you will find on your own and will be able to advise on different types of cover available.Originally posted by RightLaugh View PostI've been quoted £200 pm for critical illness and £40 for life assurance (Norwich Union - £365,000 over 25yrs).

For example, does your CI quote cover you for being unable to do your current job, or for being unable to do any job at all? If the latter, i.e. you are incapable of any work whatsoever, then you could find that they won't pay out if you are still capable of working at somthing, even if it's only flipping burgers or in a call center."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

these quotes are from IFAs (Contractor Money). You can get the sames quote by filling in a form on motley fools.Originally posted by DaveB View PostIt's worth finding yourself a local IFA and talking to them.
