Are you a scowser then? Or a scouser?Originally posted by Muttley08 View PostAre you insinuating that scowsers nick things?
I've been getting mail since Saturday morning. All of it junk or bills."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Sack 'em all and give their jobs to people who are willing to work for a living. Which excludes me. Probably some immigrants then. I got some mail today, some of which was left outside for no apparent reason, and some of which was half crammed through the letterbox. Sulky halfwits. Do it properly for the amount you agreed or do something else with your silly little lives.Comment

Unfortunately from my various sources who work/have worked for this institution, permanent post office workers are hard to sack. They sack the temps if they look too good at their job. There is also a waiting list for some of the jobs at the post office."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Its not just the pay they were striking aboutOriginally posted by shoes View PostSulky halfwits. Do it properly for the amount you agreed or do something else with your silly little lives.
Shockingly, royal mail bosses were asking staff to do other duties once they had finished their own regular duties. Occasionally this could even mean mail sorters sorting mail for a different postcode area to the area they usually sort!!
This is an example of current working practice that the union is fighting to keep:
Collection drivers can expect overtime pay for doing collections outside their route even if it is done within normal working hours.Coffee's for closersComment

I find myself wondering about posties. And what I'm wondering is this...
WTF?
They've got such a cushy number and if someone tries to drag them kicking and screaming into the late 20th century that they are concerned about it? Sod 'em. Give the jobs to the long-term unemployed.Have patience. In time, even grass becomes milk.Comment
