Well I suppose the Scots can have the luxury of being purists, their various teams not being able to compete in the real world. It all beomes academic, doesn't it?Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostAnd with it the wistfull dreams of the purist!

Our "various teams" are comparing favourably with their English counterparts in most areas sg, not that you would know, being about as sporty as the average baguette. We don't feel any great need to 'corrupt' the principles of any particular field of endeavour to try and achieve success neither. It is what sets us above you I suppose. There, I've said it!Originally posted by sasguru View PostWell I suppose the Scots can have the luxury of being purists, their various teams not being able to compete in the real world. Your teams should try it (success) it's a lovely feeling. Perhaps then you wouldn't be soo bitter.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostWe don't feel any great need to 'corrupt' the principles of any particular field of endeavour to try and achieve success neither."See, you think I give a tulip. Very socialist, start by lowering people's expectations.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostOur "various teams" are comparing favourably with their English counterparts in most areas sg, not that you would know, being about as sporty as the average baguette. I am quite sure it is a lovely feeling to evade paying tax too, but it does not make it morally right. Anyway, my team enjoys plenty of success thank you, and we don't need to bore the @rse off everyone to do it neither.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostYour teams should try it (success) it's a lovely feeling
Apparently England have no injury worries for next weekend. So no excuses then when Les Blues show you how to play properly?

I think most people's expectations were already fairly low when the news that a majority of the England Rugby squad were not only in possession of bus passes, but that the players identified as "key" to victory had, for the most part, the BMIs of Female American Gospel Singers!!Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostVery socialist, start by lowering people's expectations.“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. Well, I'll find out before you - you'll be weeding, or watching paint dry.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostApparently England have no injury worries for next weekend. So no excuses then when Les Blues show you how to play properly?

Well when you're mediocre and have no chance of winning anything, purity is a noble alternative goal. No doubt the Scottish players console themselves in the dressing room with that very thought after yet another defeat.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostWe don't feel any great need to 'corrupt' the principles of any particular field of endeavour to try and achieve success neither. Though I grant you you seem to be having an extended spell of luck in the Euro Chavball qualifiers. Which will make it all the more painful when you're ignominously kicked out of the tournament again.
