Sorry I know this may not be the best place, but wondering if I can give a quick answer, anyone knows how to change VAT registration to be flat rate, been looking at the website and can't find it. I also called them a week ago to send me the forms, but nothing arrived in the post.

I've just got my FRS confirmation 3 1/2 months after I applied, so I wouldn't expect any kind of speedy response from them.
The form is on the website somewhere.
Edit: I found it in 10 seconds with google. Will work inside IR35. Or for food. -
OK already found it and sent it off - thanks,
seems searching by google is better than using their own search.Comment

I phone the VAT helpline - they took the details and said I would get confirmation of FRS change within 4 weeks.
The confirmation arrived 2 weeks later - looks like the VAT man is clearing his admin backlog

They take the details over the phone but you can't use the FRS scheme until you get written confirmation - that's what they told me.Originally posted by MikeC1408 View PostDid mine over the phone. Registered me whilst I waited

Same here. Lady at the end of the phone said it applied with immediate effect going forwards and that it could be backdated to the start of the current VAT quarter. Seems like some mixed messages from the VAT helpline here.Originally posted by MikeC1408 View PostDid mine over the phone. Registered me whilst I waited

The website for VAT is rubbish: full of out-of date stuff, and hard to find the proper stuff. Always phone the helpline.
