Immigrants should pay extra for services

    says equality watchdog chief.
Economic migrants placing a huge strain on schools and hospitals should pay extra for the services they use, race relations boss Trevor Phillips has said.

Mr Phillips, head of the new Commission for Equality and Human Rights, said a 'two-track immigration system' was needed - with additional contributions made by 'shuttle migrants' who stay in the UK for only a short time.
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

So you think we should increase their dole to 'tax' them more to claim dole?
Admit it, you're employed by a government think-tank, aren't you. Either that or you're Evan Davis.
(Sorry, that last one was a bit below the belt).
          Why not?

When do they stop being immigrants? 5 years? 10? 2nd generation? Will my wife have to pay more as her Dad came from Ireland?

I think we should backdate the tax to those pillaging Vikings, Saxons and Normans. Actually no, hang on .....that means we's all have to pay except the Welsh

How about charging tourists? In the final hotel bill they might add an extra tax called "Immigration tax: you wanted it, you pay"
Total bill: room 50 pounds + VAT 10 pounds + ImmigrationTax 587 pounds. Please come back again with us.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.
