I've just run a regression model and the numbers tell me that the best predictor of falling house prices is rising unemployment. Not a huge insight you may say, but the numbers confirm it.

Yep. House prices are never going to crash in the UK, unless everyone is on the dole and all the banks have given up lending to those without a job.
