Who's to say it's not strictly correct? I didn't think there was any formal mechanism for deciding to change or not change the name after marriage, other than writing to the passport agency etc. and informing them. -
I'm not saying it wasn’t legal it’s just something we overlooked when booking the honeymoon in my name for both of us, we figured it must be a pretty common thing to do and had no problems at check in.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

I thought it was free to change your passport. It's free to change the drivers licence, if you have got married and supply a copy of the certificate.Originally posted by gingerjedi View PostMy wife still travels abroad on her maiden name, it only dawned on us that her passport wasn't strictly correct when we were in the queue at Bristol airport about to embark on our honeymoon!
I think its £80 to get it changed.
There are some online house moving websites that can give you a list of people that you should tell when you move, so it should be the same when you change your name.Comment

We did enquire but IIRC they're now issuing the new biometric passports so she would have to pay for one of those.Science isn't about why, it's about why not.
