Before I bought mine I looked through 'What LCD and Plasma' or whatever it was called and just did a price runner search on all the ones which were highly rated. The Sharp telly I bought had a really good rating. I then went to JL to see them in real life and asked the guy to put a normal feed through them to see how they coped with that. They didn't have the 42" one on display but showed me the 46" one. It looked rubbish close up, but then who sits 2 feet away from a 46" TV. I think the assumption is that if you are in the market for a big telly, then you probably have a big living room and as a result will be sitting a certain distance away from the screen.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
It stands to reason that big TV's look crap close up as the bigger they are the more the pixels are stretched across the screen, a small HD TV will always appear better when sitting close.
Funny how so many people have massive TV's in a modest size lounge as they're not really getting the benefit of the technology.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
