Closely followed by the "it's nobodys fault" generation. With no fault comes no responsibilty.
Very soon you get state dependance.

I hope that is easyt enough to follow and extrapolate coz I am not going to explain.
I agree. The nastiest part of it all is that there's no way back. Any dreams of a resurgence in "Britishness" (or whatever magic quality it was that made Britain once so, so special) are just that... dreams.

It all went down hill when people stopped telling off the kids and took to complaining about it on t'internet instead
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Did this happen before or after the kids started carrying knives?

I'm not saying we're in some sort of post-apocolyptic nightmare; I AM saying that the UK is now past, well past, ever being the Land Fit for Heroes, and all that. It's a Business, now.

It looks that way, of course. But the reality is that the State, as you mean, is vanishing and pretty quickly, too.

Unions? Toothless and all but gone.
Benefit System? Pleased to say that I don't have to rely on it.
Council Housing for the genuinely deserving? Ho ho!
You're on yer own, mate? Yep.

And that's when Society, Community, Nation become just words in the History books.
It is the state that strips communities of power to determine themselves. With the state (supposedly) taking responsibility for everything people no longer need to take personal responsibility for anything. The state is increasing its power and influence, all you need to do is look at the money that they take from us. It never goes down.

The problem that the state has is that it cannot control the rich. the rich can go where they like. They can take their wealth wherever they want, so it is the middle classses that they end up soaking.

I'd like to say that it's the same all over Europe and its only a matter of time before other countries are the same but its not, we seem to have bred a bunch of state dependant selfish neanderthals that are running amok in this country... and their kids are just as bad.

Its not just a financial thing either, I cant understand how people can be so ruthless and selfish in order to get what they want be it a mobile phone, a car or just for kicks, it makes me sick to the stomach reading the news some days.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I don't blame the State - I blame you, me, my dad, his mum, her great uncle (well, maybe not THAT far back!), but WE all stood by and watched while our amazing country went pop.
