I went to a public school but I don't consider myself posh. I know people who don't have to work. I've never had anything handed to me, never been to Goa or Thailand.
I don't judge people by their background and I can get along with anyone.
I do get a bit annoyed by those who haven't had to work for nice lifestyles, but I don't have a chip on my shoulder about it. I don't expect to be judged by the school I went to or the way I speak - I don't judge people on things like that as I believe in this country everyone has a fair go.
In the most dynamic environments I've worked in (banking, city) I'd say less than 1% of the workforce have been 'posh'.

The serious answer to this is - much the same as Jog On.
I went to an independent school - on a scholarship as we weren't loaded, so while I may come across as slightly 'plummy', I wouldn't regard myself as a toff at all. I think being from the North East prevents you from being entirely posh anyway.
I see the usual rugby shirt wearing brigade out and about in Richmond and Twickenham acting like spoilt t*ssers and can't stand it, but I can get along with the 'upper crust' mob here at my present client ok.
It does cause problems when sometimes the only conversation going on around the team is about football or celebrity culture - of which I know nada. Otherwise I can pretty much get along with anyone from any kind of background.
I'm in banking and it's pretty far from dynamic. Their UI standards and development are a good 8-10 years behind the leading edge. It's a constant struggle to get finance for emerging technologies and their business case model is counterproductive.
But still, only about 1% of the staff population are 'toffs', most of them here are pretend-toffs, middle-class management and working class who've worked their way up the ladder.
No it's not. Curent gig which is an exchange in the city is pretty dynamic compared to a lot of the other places I've been in. And I'm the only person approaching 'toff'
I live in the Richmond/Twickenham area as well and avoid the rugby crowd completely.

The pretend toffs are so much worse.
The concept of 'haves' looking down on 'have nots' is not confined to the upper class by any means and not entirely alien to this board I might add..
