He'll say 6 months at the last second and then congratulate you on driving a hard bargain…. on to the next sucker!

It’s a stupid ritual we all go through every time but if they priced their cars at what people actually wanted to pay they wouldn’t be able to exercise their negotiation skills and you wouldn't leave feeling like you've got a deal.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Ask how much he'll knock off due to it's uglyness
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

They will be making a good £2000-£3000 on it at that price no matter what they tell you.

There's a hidden link to a Glass' price guide on the Vauxhall website. Go to Vauxhall UK Site Map and click on "Value Your Car".

Hmm, wasn't it called "The Bible" in the trade? Or was that the auto trader? Can't remember now . . .

Its just the same as parkers but they will give you less and charge more, I hate the way they go and hide behind their big desk, lean back on the swivel chair and start flicking through the 'Glass's guide' whilst scratching their chin and going hmmm... Car dealers really are a different breed, I don’t care what their little black book says it’s a market FFS I want to buy and he wants to sell so lets do a deal, I just go in and tell them what I want to pay and wait for the phone call, if I don't get one for a few days I know I've hit the sweet spot so a visit with a cash deposit usually gets them drooling, at this point I start asking about the extras and watch their face turn white as the margin gets smaller and smaller.

They hate me as much as I hate them.
