We the Christian population of this great country England would like the proposed plan to build a Mega Mosque in East London Scrapped. This will only cause terrible violence and suffering and more money should go into the NHS.
I'm not Christian. I'm not English and I really don't care what buildings get built in east London if we're not using tax payers money (I would have an issue with using tax payers money to fund any religious building).

Not sure why building a mosque in East London is going to cause 'terrible violence' and 'great suffering' giving most of the inhabitants over that way are muslim anyway.

Can't we just get some perspective occasionally on Islam and muslims. I work every day with Muslims in London, and in every company I've worked for. I've got plenty of Muslim friends and encounter muslims regularily in most areas of my life, and too a person they tend to be really decent, down to earth people, who more often than not live lives that are exemplarory.

From what I can tell the good ones outweigh the nutters by quite a considerable factor, yet all we ever see on the news, and all that ever seems to get mentioned on this board is the extremists, loonies and sensationalist stories.

It get's a bit tiresome, and given no muslims ever post on this board (Wonder why, plenty of muslim contractors around but a day in these parts would quite quickly signal what kind of extremists we welcome around here) it's mostly left unanswered.

The NF and BNP used to regularily recruit outside Ibrox. Dunno if that's still the case.

I graciously accept your kind salutations for my forthcoming marriage to Lady Cecily Cardew. I think you would be best advised that, as I have found, style rather than sincerity is most important.

"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

It's the inequality of treatment and the way we seem to have become apologists for our own religion.

This country is Christian for the most part, not Muslim so why is it that Islam is being treated any differently, why is it that Muslims can have a huge Mosque built especially for them (in what will be very valuable land) but no Cathedral or Church for the Catholics/Protestants, Synagogue for the Jews etc... The Olympics are supposed to be for all, not just some people.

Even if one agree(s) there is a case for one Do you make it Sunni, Shia or whatever sect of Islam.

No, there is no case for any one religion to be be singled out for special treatment and therefore the fairest thing is that none are.
