These people need an attitude transplant.
They probably think they're in the Serengetti. That's what the adverts depict. You don't stop for zebras out there on the rugged plains you know.

Was there a guy sticking out from the sunroof with binoculars and a hunting rifle?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Yes, but that's a common sight on the roads up here in the savage North. It's a dangerous world out there.

Were you standing on the zebra crossing, or on the pavement?

On the pavement adjacent to the zebra crossing.

Then they did nothing wrong - they only have to stop for you if you are already on the crossing (or standing on the pavement with a pram). Not thoughtless, they just had the right of way

Sorry, I forgot that commonsense was a long forgotten concept in this country.

As if it would have made the slightest bit of difference to the reaction of the selfish idiot behind the wheel of the Chelsea Wagon if I had one foot on the crossing.
