No, that is not what I said so you do not read me correctly. I said the gatred was on both sides...
But I (seriously) don't know any English who hate the Scots (some banter but that's all), if the English did a skit similar to the McGlashan there would be uproar North of the Border (remember the issue about the BBC weather map and relative size of Scotand) as an Englishman I found it humerous - but it borders on being racist.
You on the other hand seem quite proud of your 'hatred' and perhaps see it as a defining part of being Scottish
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think
I admit...I have no time for the French. Nothing based on history, just from personal experiences. I find them ignorant, arrogant and nasty people
Well they probably get taught about Crecy/Agincourt/Waterloo etc. too.............not to mention the recent Olympic bids.
Not a huge fan of their's either I must say. Always liked the gag about the French Army rifle that was up for sale on ebay. The description said something like "Good as new, never fired, dropped once!"
“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”

I believe I have already said that I do not hate the English. I am trying to explain why the tension exists in an effort to show peole that not all Scottish hate the English, and I hope vice versa.
I am not trying to define what makes being Scottish, juist trying to say why what exists does so.
On a similar theme most English people I have met seem to have an unexplained dislike for the French which probably boils down to them having been taught about Crecy/Agincourt/Hastings/Waterloo etc.
That's not really fair - everyone hates the french!
Apart from that bird who was in the Clio adverts, Vanessa Paradis, the bird who presents the news and the french tart I doinked in madrid.

I travel a lot to France and have found them to be the complete opposite of what you describe, but I also know English people who hold the same views as you, so cannot say if it a nationality or personal thing.

I will give you an example..
I was sitting in a coffee shop in HK having my brekkie. A French couple come in and plonk their baby down on the table beside my coffee while I was eating and proceeded to change it's nappy. They put the sh*tty nappy right beside my coffee and didn't even have the decency to close it up first.....
They then tried to give it to the waitress to put in the bin, she told them to fook off...
I was stunned....I just thought "How bl**dy rude.."

agreed...that would be an Act of War

You have missed the point.
You said there is a lot of hatred from both sides, we say you are wrong - there is no hatred from the English side. It is just the Scots. I don't know any Jock-haters at all down here at all.

Then you are wrong. Like I said, there is at least one on this board alone. I know lots of them down here. You cannot possibly say tere are none just because you do not know them!!!!!
