mine took about 6 weeks to come through. I had basic clearence within a week meaning i could go to the toilet on my own. Think due to the nature of work and client they were able to put a bit of pressure on Home Office DSU to get it through a.s.a.p. The other contracter who started the same time as me on a 3 month contract had his come 2 days before he left.

I'm SC'd until 2009 so need to worry at the moment for me.

I had to escort a lady around one time, and then she wanted to loo. So then I had to find a lady I knew to do the introduction, so she could then escort her to the loo.

Why didn't they team her up with a girl in the first place? I think security get off on causing those sort of embarrassing situations.

Remember you work with clients for 12 months without the requirement for SC and you have to start from square one. Saying I've got SC until x x x date is only valid as long as you remain in an environment where sc is required.

My DV clearance run out in July and I have had to start the SC clearance again, 6 weeks now of sitting in an office trying not to look furtive because you can't really do anything, on the up side I am being paid. On the down side it is a fixed term contract so not sure if I would be kept on after it expires (about 8 weeks left)
