Dunno..ask Rosemary West...probably in 12 years when she is released (2019) at the age of 66.Last edited by Board Game Geek; 8 June 2007, 00:40.Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

GuiltyOriginally posted by DodgyAgentThere is however a serious point here, which is that many middle class people are drinking one to two bottles of wine every evening when they get home from work, causing liver problems.
Er, guiltyOriginally posted by DodgyAgentJudging from some of the gargled drivel that is posted here after 6 o'clock, I would imagine that there is a "healthy" contingent of "two bottles per evening plus" on this site.
I never used to touch the stuff very much until about about twelve years ago when my GF at the time and I took a wine appreciation course at the local college.
Can I sue the college for the damage that is apparently now being done?Comment

If you think town dwellers put it away, you should see how much they drink in the country.Originally posted by DodgyAgentThere is however a serious point here, which is that many middle class people are drinking one to two bottles of wine every evening when they get home from work, causing liver problems. On the day of the countryside march a few years ago I had to take the tube, and happened to be in a carriage full of farmers, judging by their west country growls and drawls like Robert Newton in Treasure Island, and long sticks, and their comical reaction to seeing a fox by the tracks.
They all had red faces, glowing like re-entry vehicles (no one could get _that_ much fresh air!), and the smell of spirits was literally overpowering, no exaggeration I almost felt faint and _I_ think nothing of polishing off half a bottle of brandy in an evening, but this was 10am ! The carriage literally smelled like somone had taken several crates of brandy bottles and smashed them one by one on the floor
