What if he stops suddenly? You are fecked. Tailgatters always end up rear ending someone (ooh er) eventually.
If someone comes in then drop back, if you are going considerably faster than them they won't drop in, unless they are a muppet or an m40 driver. In the space of a mile today the car infront of me must have hit his brakes >10 times to my 0 becuase I had a gap, and just lifted off the accelerator as the traffic slowed. The car behind me didn't need to brake suddenly or the one behind him, maybe my actions caused one less jam.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

The only reason he would have to stop suddenly would be if he had a mechanical failure and that could just as easily cause him to swerve as stop. With good forward observation you should be well on the brakes in an emergency before him anyway.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

You're inherently unsafe. Catch the train.

OK, I am taking the piss.

I think i have said before, I am a 2 second rule man in general, but I do use the forward observation bit. I do get pissed off with people who hog lanes though. I try not to let it take over my driving.

Actually, they often do cycle to school. It's the mad schedule on days when they have get to all the other places around town and farther afield that cause the problems. As noted previously (you know, in the bits of my posts which everyone carefully doesn't read at all), I have tried persuading my partner to ditch the car, but it's not me that has to run around everywhere at precise times. I've only got myself to worry about. Bit like most commuters...

And so to my point about the 20% on the school run, which no one seems to be capable of grasping. That is that the other 80% don't even have the excuse that they are ferrying sprogs around. They're just ferrying their own fat arses from A to B. At least people taking kids are filling the car up a bit and also are running to a genuinely restricted schedule (school at precisely regulated time -> work as quickly as possible to fit in working day).

I never understand the logic of pointing the finger at school run mums when the people pointing fingers are the other 80% who really are clogging up the road through their own laziness.

Not many people on road = not congestion.

It's a fairly simple rule to follow.
Kill all road users = no congestion

so would that also be an acceptable to you as the ends are the same, whether or not the means are acceptable does not seem to bother you, one of the original issues with the propsed road pricing policy is that people think it is unfair, just because it may reduce congestion doesn't make it a suitable solution.

But most of the congestion is due to people going to work, unless you count people like Dangs wife who ferry the kids to school

Is your specialist subject ****ed up logic?

Ferrying fat lard arsed kids a few miles to school is somehow a noble use of a car where as keeping the economy afloat by ferrying productive professionals to work is "luxury".

I'm starting to catch on to this game now. Whatever I post, five of you post the opposite. That right?
