    I only chase agents if

    a) They are less than 10 yards in front of me and
    b) I have a machette in my hand

Actually I almost considered going to the office of some kunty agent who f*cked me over and waiting for him outside. But I thought it was bit too Travis Bickle. Now when it happens, I smile.

I never get any contracts by directly applying for them. Most of them are phoney anyway.
Its only when some random agent who call to say that he got my cv from some job site.

I reckon it depends on how you phone up as well. If you phone up and say meakly

'Cough, errrm is David Andrews there please. My name is Paul Smith and I would like to speak with him' - Answer he's busy

Now look in the mirror. Say 'I'm a tiger. Grrrrr' Then Phone with a cocky, cold calling salesman attitude.

'Hi Babes. Paul here. Dave around, put us through love he's expecting my call. Pronto!'

He's currently at lunch, on the phone, in a meeting. Take your pick.

Actually he's trying to avoid you as he has no feedback to give you and chasing his next deal.

"Could you put me through to Richard Sole please? I need to speak to him about some Contract roles I need filling fast".

              Straight through!

Unless like me, you are the Golden Egg he was looking for.

Jobserve seems to be dead on its feet. I've had a lot more calls since I put my CV on jobsite last week. I'm beginning to think that's where the agents all start now.
