good luck with it, the golden rule with planning applications is if at first you don't succeed, try again, involve the planners in the whole process and your laughing, work with the planners and the architect

My Dad's a retired architect and the house is in his former patch so I've got a good start on this one. The problem is the house has used its greenbelt permitted development quota already before I bought it. I'm pretty confident I'll get what I want by treading carefully. It's not my house yet, just going through in the next week or 2 hopefully.

Or in cases I know of 'employ' the planning officials to make sure all the 't's are crossed and 'i's are dotted in your application.

can I suggest you offer to do a bit of work for the village in return for the planning approval, clear a few ditches, cut a few trees down, renew some of the toys at the children's playground obviously depending upon the size of your project scale the offering to the village accordingly

He says its the prestige...Am I stupid because I don't get it.
There are more BMW 3 series produced in europe than ford mondeos, rather common these days is prestige.
I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!?

That's because we've made poverty history. We can all afford beemers now. You're below the poverty line if you have to resort to a mondeo.

In '94, $90,000 where my dad lives could have easily bought a nice house with change left over.

BMW denies that there was a serious flaw with the engine in his ex-car. He even had an extended warranty - apparently it didn't cover his specific problem.
Nikasil bores was the problem with low sulpher fuels. Big problems here and in the states. Most were replaced under warranty, but they did spend a long time denying issues.

Thanks. It may be too late now that they have disposed of said vehicle. But still, legally, there maybe something we can do...maybe. Though you would think that BMW would like to keep customers - not throw them away. I doubt whether my father will EVER consider buying another BMW.

Yup, personal debt is increasing by £1M/sec. That's, what like, 33 BMW's/sec.
