    Another NHS thread

6 wards in my local NHS hospital are closed due to the Norvo virus. Not one single ward in the hospital is free of MRSA. The new wing of the hospital can't be used because they've got no money to run it.

But...the same hospital has just advertised for 6 (yes 6!!!) managing directors on 85K. You couldn't make it up.
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

6 managing directors? 6? What do they need 6 for? Most companies only need one. Who is going to manage the managing directors?

Is this some new form of grade inflation ?
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

      85K for an MD?

According to our company accounts the MD here made just short of 700k last year. Salary £303k the rest was bonuses.

Indeed - so I wonder what standard of MD the NHS will get?

          6 Managing Directors?

6 Managing Directors doesn't sound right to me. I've just left the NHS after 10 years to start contracting. What's the hospital?

I had to go to the Whitechapel NHS walk in centre the other day. An enlightening experience.

Plus they're letting 300 staff go.

Hmmm. One 'MD' post (MD looks like a job title only, there's no such real things as an 'MD of Surgical Services'). It looks from the article as if some of the director posts are replacements of other posts. It's never easy getting to the truth between an NHS Trust and a local journalist...

This wouldn't happen to be in a strong Conservative/Lib Dem area would it?

I believe it is but I'm not sure what effect that would have on NHS Trust decisions (or the local press).
