Look at it logically - without the gun the "people" couldn't shoot each other, could they! Some UK gangs have got hold of guns, and they shoot more people than those who haven't.

The availability of guns in an argument is much more dangerous than knives or baseball bats.
I am not making the gun lobby's old argument, I am rather pointing out that the USA has a very high murder rate because they are a murderous people, not because they are a gun-owning people. (i.e. I'm talking about violence not weapons).
God made men. Sam Colt made them equal.

You might be right. Self-selecting perhaps, as the types who have populated that country needed to be a bit lairy to survive.

One of the arguments will be if the students/teachers were allowed to be armed they could have defended themselves.

Let's face it, guns are so ingrained in the USA's culture that it's unlikely to change whilst they're still such an effective weapon. If I was living over there I'd damn well want to be able to defend myself against the lunatics. You certainly can't rely on the police or security services. They're purely reactionary in these situations and sometimes their reactions are somewhat slower than you'd want.

Where's horatio cane off CSI Miami when you need him. He'd have been in there and taken the mofo out before his colleagues could have said "Oi, you're supposed to investigate crime scenes, not create them!".

On a more serious note, it looks like schools/colleges need better armed security that are trained and prepared to take the purps out asap.

That would probably make even me go postal, and I've only got some chewing gum and a spiky haircut.

              Numbers, numbers, numbers????

In the year 2006 the USA had over 16,000 killings, and the Iraqi insurgents only killed a little over 3,000 in 4 years???

Murdering someone with a firearm is more detached than murdering someone with a knife or a baseball bat.

                    What a bloody mess!!

These occasional acts of mass killing are just the tip of the iceberg.

31 students, 1 guard and the assassinator himself.
It's the most devastating rampage in the history of US.
