Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do - GLCScience isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

One of the arguments will be if the students/teachers were allowed to be armed they could have defended themselves.
Let's face it, guns are so ingrained in the USA's culture that it's unlikely to change whilst they're still such an effective weapon. If I was living over there I'd damn well want to be able to defend myself against the lunatics. You certainly can't rely on the police or security services. They're purely reactionary in these situations and sometimes their reactions are somewhat slower than you'd want.
Where's horatio cane off CSI Miami when you need him. He'd have been in there and taken the mofo out before his colleagues could have said "Oi, you're supposed to investigate crime scenes, not create them!".
On a more serious note, it looks like schools/colleges need better armed security that are trained and prepared to take the purps out asap."If it floats, flies, or f***s, lease it." - Evel Knievel when he wasn't jumping buses or womenComment

Mismatch?
In the year 2006 the USA had over 16,000 killings, and the Iraqi insurgents only killed a little over 3,000 in 4 years???Comment

Originally posted by LambrosAt least 20 people, including the suspected gunman, were killed in a shooting rampage at Virginia Tech university on Monday.
Shocked and horrified but it is the second time in less than a year that the Virginia Tech campus has been closed because of a shooting.
Deja vu
Numbers, numbers, numbers????
In the year 2006 the USA had over 16,000 killings.
What a bloody mess!!
These occasional acts of mass killing are just the tip of the iceberg.
31 students, 1 guard and the assassinator himself.
It's the most devastating rampage in the history of US.Comment
