After careful consideration I concluded that to stay away was to play into your hands, giving you the satisfaction of thinking you'd succeeded in pushing me off the forum.
No chance.

I can't resist quoting all of a post in the Telegraph that agrees with the politics but expresses a wider view with some grace:
I visit your beautiful country in 1993,2000,2002 and probably I will return this Summer.
When I am in a foreign country I like to watch people's expression;well, every time it seemed to me that most of your fellow-countrymen were happy or,at least, satisfied with their lives, surely more than my Italian compatriots.
That said, according to things I read, hear and notice, the main problems modern UK is facing are
.Too much PC
.Lack of traditional values for most of younger generation
.Lack of discipline in several schools
.Ill-treated and overstrained Armed Forces(in spite of that among the best in the world)
.Obsessive government gun-control towards law abiding people
.Dismantlement or sale of important manufacturing industries
.Misunderstood multiculturalism
Note that more or less most of European nations have similar problems,a further reason for suspecting EU.
Howewer Britain has a rich economy,British workers have good purchasing power, your birth rate is quite high(an undoubted sign of optimism),you can breathe great cultural liveliness, not only in London.
Oh,and England is at the moment rugby world champion.
I would have liked Mr. Davies as future PM after so many years of New Labour government because Mr.Cameron looks like Mr.Blair copy and I'm not even sure he will win next election.
A last comment:don't be ashamed to be British, few days ago,by chance,in the factory where I work as labourer,me and three my Italian and Rumanian colleagues were wearing an Union Jack t-shirt;a world with Britain is a better place.
