    Define Which Era was classic?

Some People Say 1969 - 1975 is classic

    Some Say 1969 - 1999 is classic?

In Which Context do you define classic?

        ^^ what he said!

Although apart from a bit of plot-losing in the 80s Judas Priest probably get my vote..........

Deep Purple - just been listening to some again, Ritchie Blackmore was awesome, imo no one has come close to this guy.

I agree. He's loads better than the other guitar greats simply because he is more musical and could bring a unique sound to his playing without building some sort of unique guitar (like May). Although the others are just as technically competent (or even faster, if that means the same thing) with their clever top end of fretboard twiddly widdly whah! whah! trigger finger work, their solos are pretty forgettable by and large, and even boring, if they go on too long. With RBs you actually remember them and play them over in your head and then you play them over again and again. He 'sings' on a Strat whilst the others merely play.

He was hugely underrated as a player.

Mind you he is a bit of a 'fruitcake', let's be honest!
