To drive home its message that managed service companies are to be discouraged, the Revenue may hold the provider or “end-point employer” liable for any unpaid tax found to be owing by a managed service company.
So, after having encouraged people to incorporate (e.g. 0% band on first 10k), they now want to do the opposite!

    You have to laugh.

They have only printed one of the feedbacks. Is "Steve from Oxford" someone here?

Exempt from NI? How I wish...

          Cowboy Bob, Maidenhead,

Doesn't sound right to me either. on £1,500 a day you would of thought he/she would want to manage her own affairs.

          TheRightStuff, Centre of the Earth,

There are significant errors in this article. Suggest you contact an accountant who is familiar with contractor tax affairs.

The Treasury seems to think that unless you wear an overall and have a box of spanners, you are in conventional employment.

Well they got one bit spot on
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Well that's strange. I could only see one comment listed there, but I've just checked again and even that has now disappeared.

                    Only showing this one now
Inaccurate article. I expect more from your paper. Go and do your research and look into the difference between 'self-employed' and 'personal service company'. This is just one error from many in an article that needs rewriting.

It might be worthwhile somebody emailing a response back to business@timesonline.co.uk suggesting that they get thier facts right. This is typical of the media these days and why NL get such an easy ride given the bollox they have created,
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                      I preferred version 1!
